Dalhousie (डलहौज़ी): - Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station in Chamba district of North Indian state Himachal Pradesh. This is one of the most visited places by the tourists from India and foreign countries through out the year. There are many interesting spots to visit. It is surrounded by snow caped mountain.

Places to Visit

Dainkund Peak is the highest mountain in the Dalhousie that provides superb view of the valley. It is a stunning tourist place and is the supreme mountain in Dalhousie. We can have a round view of the valley .This mountain has obtained its name Singing hill due the noise of breeze through the trees that makes a musical sound. This place has a scenic charm. The major attraction of the Dainkund is Pholani Devi Temple.


Khajjiar is the hill station at distance of 24 km from Dalhousie. It sits on a small plateau with a small stream fed lake in the centre. Major attractions of Khajjiar are Khajjiar Lake, Dhauladhar mountains, and Khajji Nag Temple.


Panchpulla is surrounded by the pine and deodar trees and is a most favourite spot of the tourists in Dalhousie. There are many waterfalls at Panchpulla which looks best during the monsoon. The best time to visit here is summer and monsoon as the water flows with full force in these season.


Kalatop Sanctuary is a animal sanctuary with 30.69 km². The sanctuary lies in the path of the Ravi River and is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests. There are Bear, leopard, dear, Goral, Squirrel, Serow, jackal, langur and Blackbird in this sanctuary.


Satdhara Waterfalls are also the one of the most visited place.


Chamba is a famous tourist attraction of the Himachal. It is approachable from Dalhousie at distance of 55 km. The attractions of the Chamba are Bhuri Singh museum, Lakshmi Narayan temple, Chamba palace, Radha Krishan temple, Shri Chand Baba Gurudwara, Sri Hari Rai Temple, Chamunda Mata Temple, Rang Mahal Chamba, and Sui Mata Temple.


Chamera Dam impounded the Ravi river and serve as hydropower project. The Dam creates a beautiful view of the lake here. This place is near to Dalhousie at distance of 35 km.


Chamba ka Chaugan is the main attraction of the Chamba.


Bharmaur formally known as Brahmpura was ancient capital of the Chamba. Bharmaur is known for its natural scenic beauty and its temples Especially for Chaurasi Temple. The town lies between Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar range, and Ravi and Chenab River. Bharmaur is known as the land of the Lord of Shiva.

Winter Season- Oct to March

Dalhousie gets covered with the snow and there is chilled cold during this season.


Summer Season - April to June

One can feel natural Ac environment, and can have relaxed journey; in this the season when tourist prefers to visit Dalhousie because of the cool environment.


Rainy Season: - July to Oct

It remain covered with the fog and clouds all around, which is liked by the visitors for the best photography of the natural beauty, one can see many waterfalls near around Dalhousie.
